Classroom Lead/Instructor
Job Type: Part-time
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an instructor for the physics and basketball program. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching students in grades 6-8 the principles of physics through the use of sports and physical activities.

Responsibilities:
Deliver lesson plans that integrate physics concepts with sports and physical activities
Teach students about the laws of motion, force, energy, and other key physics principles
Sports and physical activities as a means to demonstrate the principles of physics
Work with students to carry out experiments that measure physical characteristics such as height, weight, velocity, and acceleration
Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback on their understanding of the material
Develop and maintain relationships with schools and non-profit organizations to secure teaching opportunities
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve the program
Requirements:
College coursework in physics, science education, or a STEM field related field (Bachelors degree preferred)
Demonstration of prior teaching experience
Strong interest and understanding of the principles of physics and how they can be applied to sports and physical activities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to travel to various locations to teach the program
Available between 2-5pm a few days a week
Must pass background check and provide TB test clearance

About the Role: We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Basketball/PE Instructor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching physical education and basketball concepts to students in grades K-12.

Summer STEM Camp Director
Job Type: Temporary (2025 Camp Dates: June 9-13, June 16-20, July 7-11, July 14-18)
Hours: 8:30a - 4:30p
Location: San Leandro, CA
About the Role: We are seeking an organized, energetic, and proactive Camp Director to oversee the daily operations of our Summer STEM Camp. The Camp Director will be responsible for managing staff, coordinating schedules, ensuring smooth program execution, and creating a positive and engaging environment for campers and staff.

Responsibilities:
Implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate physical activity, basketball skills, and principles of physics
Lead students in on-court activities, drills, and experiments to demonstrate physical concepts such as force, velocity, and acceleration
Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide a comprehensive learning experience for students
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to help them improve
Ensure that all equipment is maintained and stored properly
Attend training and professional development opportunities to continuously improve your skills
Requirements:
Ability to understand and teach math concepts which include statistics and algebra (we provide training)
Previous experience teaching physical education, coaching basketball, or playing basketball at hs/college level
Strong interest understanding of the principles of physics and their application to physical activities
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, teachers, and other staff
Passion for helping students develop their physical abilities and an understanding of science
Ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
First Aid and CPR certification must be completed within first 30 days of employment
Available between 2-4pm a few days a week.

Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Logistics
Oversee daily camp operations and ensure all activities run efficiently
Manage daily schedules, transitions, and logistics for STEM and sports sessions
Supervise camper check-in and check-out, ensuring all safety procedures are followed
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians
Staff Leadership & Coordination
Supervise and support a team of STEM instructors, sports trainers, and camp counselors
Lead daily staff meetings and provide guidance to ensure high-quality instruction
Assist with training and mentoring staff to maintain a positive camp culture
Camper Engagement & Experience
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all campers
Ensure campers are actively participating in STEM learning and sports training
Address any camper concerns, behavioral issues, or conflicts in a professional manner
Communication & Administration
Maintain clear communication with staff, parents, and partner organizations
Handle camp-related inquiries, provide updates, and address parent concerns as needed
Ensure that all camp policies, procedures, and safety protocols are followed
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in program management, youth development, or camp leadership, preferably in an educational or sports setting
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
Passion for STEM education and youth sports
Ability to manage staff, delegate tasks, and create a structured learning environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both youth and adults
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in STEM education, sports training, or youth camps
Background in teaching, coaching, or educational administration
Familiarity with basketball and golf training programs
